Karl Humphries’ bid to appeal his cannabis supply conviction was refused by the Supreme Court, reported on 31 January 2025.
The court held that his proposed appeal concerned the particular facts of his case and raised no matter of general public importance. It was not satisfied that a further appeal was necessary in the interests of justice.
Humphries had been convicted of possessing cannabis for sale or supply by a Cork Circuit Criminal Court jury in July 2021. The Supreme Court refusal left that conviction in place.
