Jonathan Keogh was jailed for life for Gareth Hutch’s murder at the Special Criminal Court on 2 November 2018. Hutch was shot dead outside Avondale House flats on North Cumberland Street, Dublin, on 24 May 2016. The three-judge court found Keogh fired the fatal shots and had been involved in almost every aspect of planning the killing. Keogh had denied murder.

The court found the killing was deliberate and callous, involving substantial planning and coordination. Keogh was sentenced to the mandatory life term after the guilty verdict, backdated to when he first went into custody. Thomas Fox and Regina Keogh were also convicted and jailed for life; Fox separately received six years for unlawful possession of a handgun, to run concurrently.
