This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.
The Court of Appeal dismissed Regina Keogh’s appeal against her murder conviction on 15 July 2021. She had been sentenced to life imprisonment by the Special Criminal Court in 2018 after being found guilty of colluding with her brother in Gareth Hutch’s murder.
The appeal court rejected all grounds of appeal, finding that the trial court was entitled to rely on prosecution witness Mary McDonnell’s evidence and that the evidence concerning gloves was capable of corroborating it.
The court held that the trial court’s factual conclusions could not properly be interfered with and dismissed the appeal.
