Jonathan Gill pleaded not guilty to falsely imprisoning three people at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, as reported on 10 March 2017. The alleged imprisonment took place in Drogheda between 1 and 2 August 2011, before the family were moved to Swords.

A woman told the jury that raiders threatened her and her 10-week-old baby while demanding that her partner take more than €600,000 from his workplace. She said she was held at gunpoint, beaten with a gun and later left tied to a bed frame with the baby.

The trial was continuing before Judge Elma Sheahan and a jury, with the hearing expected to last four weeks.
