John Perry’s dispute with Danske Bank over a €2.47 million judgment was adjourned by the Commercial Court on 7 November 2016. The bank said a settlement involving Perry and his wife, Marie, had broken down after alleged failures to meet their obligations. The couple were required to provide a statement of affairs and a sworn statement disclosing supporting documents. The court was told their deadline had passed without the statement of affairs being provided.
An accountant speaking on their behalf said Mr Perry was ill. The report said the Perrys were trying, but were unable, to obtain information they had sought from the bank. Mr Justice Brian Cregan said the accountant had no right of audience. He allowed the couple two further weeks to prepare their statement of affairs and accompanying documents and directed that the couple or lawyers acting on their behalf attend the next hearing.
