Janice Brady was jailed for the balance of a four-year sentence for impeding a murder prosecution at the Central Criminal Court on 20 November 2020.
She had pleaded guilty to staging musician Martin Kivlehan’s suicide between 2 and 3 August 2015 to impede the prosecution of her brother.
The court had suspended the remaining sentence on conditions including notifying the probation service of any change of address. Brady breached those conditions again after failing to cooperate with probation services, and the judge activated the remaining nine months.
The court also heard that she had been charged with 33 offences in Dublin and was using crack cocaine and heroin.
