The Special Criminal Court sentenced Jamie Moss to three years and eight months in prison for firearms offences, suspending the final 20 months for three years. The judge said she would have imposed four years and eight months after his guilty plea, but reduced the sentence in light of mitigation.

Moss had pleaded guilty to possessing a 9mm Makarov semi-automatic pistol and a round of ammunition on Old Navan Road, Blanchardstown, on February 16, 2024. The court heard he had completed a carpentry apprenticeship and had an impressive work history; the judge described his behaviour as out of character.
