Stephen Carberry has pleaded guilty at the non-jury Special Criminal Court to assisting an offender by helping in the movement and disposal of the body parts of Keane Mulready-Woods. The proceedings were reported on 1 December 2025. Presiding judge Ms Justice Karen O'Connor adjourned the matter until 19 January for a victim impact statement, and Carberry was remanded in custody until then. He is due to be sentenced in the new year.
The prosecution said it would enter a nolle prosequi on two further indictment charges: participating in or contributing to the transportation and disposal of the body parts for the purpose of enhancing a criminal organisation's ability to commit murder, and setting fire to a Volvo V40 motor car for the benefit of a criminal organisation. The court also agreed to defence requests for a urine analysis, a prison medic's letter and an educational report. Carberry's trial date, fixed for 12 January, could be vacated.
