By Donal Gilhooly

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

John Halpin was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to dangerous driving causing the deaths of Anthony Hogg and Georgina Hogg Moore in Blanchardstown on 26 December 2024. He also pleaded guilty to failing to stop and leaving the scene, knowing injury had been caused. The court disqualified him from driving for 10 years.

Halpin’s partner, Nicole Fallon, received a three-year sentence suspended in full for impeding his arrest. The judge said she impeded the garda investigation by moving the car and lying to gardaí, and considered the effect imprisonment would have on their four children.
