This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Inga Ozolina was jailed for four years for manslaughter at the Central Criminal Court, in a sentence reported on 31 July 2019. The offence involved the death of Audrius Pukas at The Malthouse, Roscrea, after a violent altercation.

A jury had found Ozolina not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter on 29 May. Mr Justice Alexander Owens said the killing was in self-defence, but that the self-defence had been excessive.

The sentence was five years, with one year suspended and backdated to 29 May. The judge took account of previous assaults by Pukas, Ozolina’s good character and the likelihood that she would not offend again.
