Greta Dudko, a 36-year-old nurse of Station Court Hall, Clonsilla, was on trial at the Central Criminal Court charged with murdering her mother, 55-year-old Anna Butautiene, in their Dublin home on Christmas Eve 2010.
Dudko has pleaded guilty to manslaughter. She has pleaded not guilty to murder. The proceedings were reported on 14 October 2014.
The jury heard that a charred passport had been found in a rubbish bin after the Christmas Eve attack. Det Garda Patrick Traynor testified that Dudko was interviewed by gardaí on St Stephen’s night. The report said a detective told her that “the charred remains of what appears to be a Lithuanian passport in the name of your mother” had been found.
Dudko said it was her old passport and that she had told her mother not to throw it away without cutting it up. She denied telling lies. Asked whether it was an initial plan to get rid of her mother’s identity, she replied: “No.”
The trial was continuing.
