Gary Foy received a 16-month prison sentence, suspended on strict conditions, for careless driving causing serious bodily harm at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 27 October 2022. Judge Melanie Greally imposed the sentence.

Foy pleaded guilty to that charge, driving without insurance and driving under the influence of an intoxicant. He also received 180 hours of community service, concurrent on the two remaining counts, and a five-year driving disqualification. The crash happened at a west Dublin park on 17 September 2020. A garda agreed Foy had no previous convictions, an excellent attitude and was remorseful.
