This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Four men were convicted of sexually abusing their deaf relative after a Central Criminal Court trial before Ms Justice Caroline Biggs. The men denied all charges against them. On 10 June 2026, the jury completed its work after 131 days of trial.

Accused B, an uncle, was convicted of three counts of rape and one of anal rape of the main complainant between 2006 and 2014. Her brother, Accused E, was convicted of two counts of anal rape between 2007 and 2009. Another brother, Accused F, was convicted of one count of rape between 2007 and 2009.

Accused C, another brother, was convicted of six offences against the main complainant between 2003 and 2010: three counts of rape, two of anal rape and one of sexual assault. He was also convicted of sexually assaulting a second sister between 2005 and 2006 and raping her twice between 2015 and 2018. On 9 June, the jury found him guilty of anally raping a third sister between September 2010 and September 2014, when she was a child.

The jury could not agree on a remaining rape count against Accused F or on one rape count against each of two other uncles, Accused A and Accused G. On 13 July, the Director of Public Prosecutions withdrew the two charges against the uncles. All charges against a fourth brother, Accused D, had been withdrawn during the trial after the prosecution evidence.

Accused C broke his bail conditions and his sentence hearing could not proceed in his absence. Pleas in mitigation for the other three convicted men were scheduled for a further sentence hearing on 19 October 2026. Defence counsel said psychological reports for Accused E and Accused F would not be ready until October. None of the parties can be named for legal reasons.
