This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Enoch Burke lodged an appeal against a High Court injunction barring him from attending or teaching at Wilson’s Hospital School in Co Westmeath. The proceedings were reported on 4 October 2022.

He asked the Court of Appeal to set aside the injunction and the decision to keep it in place pending a final hearing. He also appealed the dismissal of applications seeking to overturn his suspension. Burke had not appealed the contempt orders committing him to prison.

The appeal was due to be mentioned at a Court of Appeal directions hearing later that month, though it was understood it was unlikely to be heard before Christmas. Burke was returned to Mountjoy Prison after lodging it.
