This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.
Bernard Daly’s bail application was rejected by the Court of Appeal on 7 October 2015 after his conviction for giving false information to the Revenue Commissioners and related conspiracy offences. He was serving a two-year prison sentence imposed after being found guilty of giving false information, conspiring to delete bank records and conspiring to defraud Revenue.
The court said the appeal grounds did not yet meet the test for bail, although it indicated that a renewed application could be made once the trial transcript became available. An expedited appeal hearing was set for 11 January.
