Dear [TD name],

I live in [your town] and I am writing about childcare places.

Could you please raise the availability problem and ask what practical support or capacity plans exist? I would appreciate a written update on the next step.

I have already contacted [responsible body] on [date], reference [reference, if safe to share].

Thank you,

What to include

Area, age band rather than a child’s name, days and times, and type of place needed.

Add a brief, factual account of the impact and the outcome you want. Use dates and public references where possible.

What to leave out

Leave out other people’s names, unnecessary health details, PPS numbers, bank details and private documents. If an office needs sensitive identifiers, ask for an appropriate private channel.

Send this to your TD

Replace the brackets and check every recipient. Your mail app opens a draft; you choose whether to send. The draft is edited on your device.

What happens next?

Your email app opens a draft for you to review and send. Keep a copy. Ask the office what the next step will be and follow up on the specific question if you need to. A TD reply is not a decision by the service responsible.

Use the official service channel for the complaint or application itself. Check its current instructions for any time limit; do not wait for a TD reply before a deadline.
