How we use your email

When you copy issues@localnews.ie into an email, localnews.ie (published by Novavela OÜ) gets a copy. Here's what we do with it.

We keep it private. Only our newsroom sees the original email.

We take out personal details: your name, address, phone number and anything about other people.

We log the problem, the place and who you wrote to, so we can show which problems keep coming up in each town and on each route, and whether TDs and public bodies respond.

Anything we publish is anonymous: problems by town, route and topic, never by person.

We delete the original email within 90 days. We never sell or share it.

Want it deleted sooner? Email editor@localnews.ie with the word "delete" and we'll remove it.

Got a reply from your TD? Forward it to issues@localnews.ie and we'll treat it the same way.

Please leave out health details and other people's names. Copying us isn't an official complaint, so please also report the problem to the transport operator, council or other body responsible.
