The Labour Court affirmed that St. Colmcille's (Kells) Credit Union Limited unfairly dismissed Mr Patrick Leneghan, but reduced his compensation from €25,500 to €12,750. The determination was dated 26 September 2019.
The credit union conceded it had not followed fair procedures, and its appeal was limited to compensation. The Court found that Mr Leneghan contributed in no small measure to his dismissal and had not provided credible evidence of sufficiently rigorous efforts to limit his losses. The compensation is subject to normal taxation.
