The Labour Court recommended a 10% pay increase over three years for Medite workers, alongside a higher Christmas cover voucher for employees covering specified shifts. The recommendation was dated 30 June 2026. SIPTU sought a 12% increase, a €200 voucher, extra service days for long-serving workers and backdated payments for members who retired during the pay talks. Medite proposed a 9% increase and a €200 voucher for shift cover, and opposed including retired employees. Connect had withdrawn from the WRC process, and SIPTU members rejected a WRC proposal before the company and union referred the dispute to the Court. The recommended increases are 3.5%, 4% and 2.5% in the three years from 1 March 2025. The Christmas cover voucher rises from €80 to €200 for those covering the relevant shifts. Workers reaching 40 years’ service receive extra service days under the recommendation, which applies only to active employees.
