The Labour Court recommended that Morris Builder Providers Ltd offer staff required to use its two-way radio system a once-off, tax-free €600 voucher, inclusive of any voucher already received. It also recommended that the union cooperate with the system’s introduction and that the parties engage on its implementation. The recommendation was dated 20 March 2026. The union sought voluntary participation, safeguards and compensation, citing health and safety concerns. The company said it had addressed concerns through a policy, protective pouches and individual earpieces. The Court accepted the company’s right to introduce new technology and considered the system a normal change in employment. It said it did not recommend compensation for such a change, but recommended the voucher as a goodwill gesture.
