The Labour Court recommended that The Wright Group pay a maintenance worker €3,307.68 after finding he resigned during a heated exchange with the company’s chief executive. The recommendation was dated 15 December 2025. The worker said the chief executive shouted at him and told him to leave after he rejected an apology. The company said he rejected the apology and told the chief executive he was gone. The Court found, on the balance of probabilities, that the worker resigned on 4 March 2025. The Court said the company should have tried to resolve the situation and offered the worker a chance to withdraw the resignation, which had been made in heated circumstances. It recommended payment equivalent to four weeks’ gross pay in full and final settlement of the dispute.
