Labour Court recommends Artmax need not concede worker’s dismissal claim

The Labour Court recommended that Artmax should not concede a worker’s claim that he was dismissed because of certified sick leave during his first week. The decision was signed on 6 January 2025. The worker said he had told Artmax at interview that he had not used Azure recently and disputed the employer’s account that he was given login credentials. Artmax said familiarity with Azure was essential, the worker lacked the required skills, and his sick leave did not influence the decision to end his employment. The company said it paid him one week’s pay in lieu of notice.
