The Labour Court has upheld a €4,000 compensation recommendation to a worker after the Health Service Executive (HSE) Corporate, Workplace Health And Wellbeing Unit appealed over its handling of her grievance. The decision was dated 2 July 2024. The Court found the National Director of Human Resources failed to follow the employer's grievance procedure by declining to consider the substance of the worker's Stage 3 grievance and advising her to appeal the Stage 2 outcome directly to the WRC. The worker had challenged the decision to terminate her employment. The original recommendation was for deficiencies in how the grievance was handled.
