The Labour Court has recommended that The National Advocacy Service submit a business case for a pay increase for its staff, and that the Citizens Information Board endorse it and forward it to the Department of Social Protection. The recommendation was dated 5 January 2024. SIPTU said its members who transferred from the Citizens Information Service in 2010 had not received equivalent pay increases to comparable workers. The National Advocacy Service said pay changes required approval and funding from its parent agency. The Court found that pay and conditions had diverged since 2010 compared with workers in related organisations under the Citizens Information Board. It recommended that the business case be favourably received, endorsed and forwarded to the Department.
