Labour Court recommends further talks on Leo Pharma loss-of-earnings agreement

The Labour Court recommended that Leo Pharma, 160 Operatives and their representative, SIPTU, engage without delay to clarify a dispute over a collective agreement on loss of earnings. The parties were asked to aim to conclude matters within three months. The recommendation was dated 20 November 2023. The agreement covered shift premia, variable overtime, exceptional change overtime and rostered overtime. The parties held opposing views about the agreements’ intent, the periods covered and the calculations to use. The Court said a simpler or more refined approach might help avoid further issues.
