Labour Court recommends Cabra Credit Union warning expire at year end

The Labour Court recommended that Cabra Credit Union let an unnamed worker’s written warning expire on 31 December 2023, after which no record would remain and neither party would refer to the sanction. The recommendation was dated 6 September 2023. The dispute followed a disciplinary sanction imposed after a conversation with an employee of another organisation. The worker said the conversation was off the record; the employer said it breached confidentiality. The Court noted that both people relayed the conversation to others and that an investigation report acknowledged a breach, while saying the other employee aggravated the damage. The worker was represented by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union.
