The Workplace Relations Commission recommended that a transport company take no further action on a bus driver’s claim for occupational injury pay, finding the company acted reasonably. The recommendation was dated 6 September 2023. The driver sought €1,448.48, the difference between sick pay and occupational injury pay, and a €150 safe-driving token after an incident with an inspector. The officer found the incident did not amount to bullying and described the driver’s response as affronted, insulted or offended rather than psychologically injured. The officer said the driver had been treated fairly through the sick-pay scheme.
