Labour Court sends Bidvest Noonan cleaners’ pay dispute to conciliation

The Labour Court recommended further conciliation in a pay dispute involving four industrial cleaners employed by Bidvest Noonan (ROI) Limited and represented by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. The recommendation was signed on 25 August 2023. The cleaners sought an increase from hourly rates of €12.09 to €12.69 to €13.90, as well as travel allowances. The parties disagreed about whether the sector’s Employment Regulation Order applied and how moving to a new pay structure would affect the workers’ pay. The Court recommended that the parties engage further with its Conciliation Service and said they could jointly refer any remaining issues back to the Court.
