Labour Court recommends CHC Helicopters Ireland DAC and WORKERS, represented by Forsa, review pension and loss-of-licence arrangements

The Labour Court recommended a comprehensive approach to CHC Helicopters Ireland DAC and WORKERS, represented by Forsa, negotiating over pension contributions and loss-of-licence arrangements. The recommendation was dated 23 May 2022. The workers sought higher pension contributions and increased loss-of-licence cover. The employer cited financial pressure, rising costs and supply issues, and said it needed to improve efficiency ahead of a tender process. The Court said the parties lacked a shared basis for calculating pension contributions and differed by 100% in their assessment of the workers’ claim. It recommended negotiations on any increases’ size and start date, alongside a review of how the pension scheme is administered and operated.
