The Labour Court recommended that Applus Inspection Services Ireland Limited pay an anonymised worker €5,000 compensation after finding he was dismissed without fair procedures. The recommendation was dated 19 May 2022. The employer did not attend the hearing, and the Court accepted the undisputed facts presented for the worker. The Court found he had no process through which to make a case for keeping his job, although he lacked the service required to bring an unfair dismissal claim under the Unfair Dismissals Act. He sought reinstatement, but the Court said the relationship had broken down.
