Labour Court recommends amendments to ESB agreement with 1400 Network Technicians (NT'S)

The Labour Court recommended amendments to the proposed “Building a Better Climate” agreement between ESB and 1400 Network Technicians (NT'S), represented by GROUP OF UNIONS- SIPTU - UNITE - CONNECT. The Court said the amended proposals should provide a fair and reasonable basis for resolving the dispute. It recommended an agreed independent chair and jointly agreed terms of reference for an oversight group, regular progress reports from ESB, and common start and finish times for staff whose work may depend on working together, with operational details discussed locally. The proposals provided for conditional baseline payments of €3,500 in 2021 and €5,000 in 2022. Because implementation could not begin until 2022, the Court recommended adjusting the 2022 payment to €8,500. It made no recommendation on pay and related matters being discussed separately and recommended a review of the parties’ relationship framework. The recommendation is dated 14 February 2022.
