Labour Court recommends Wyeth redundancy offer for 34 staff

The Labour Court recommended that Unite the Union accept Wyeth Nutritionals’ offer on voluntary redundancy terms for 34 Administrative Staff. It also concluded that reserve hours should not be included when calculating a basic week’s pay for voluntary redundancy. The recommendation was signed on 23 December 2020. The union argued reserve hours should count, pointing to a 2019 calculation that included them. The company said that calculation was an error and relied on 15 earlier redundancies where reserve hours had been excluded. The Court also noted that 2007 guidance excluded them.
