The Labour Court did not recommend conceding a claim by 60 Mechanical Operatives at Murphy International Limited to reintroduce a site allowance. The recommendation was dated 13 February 2020. The workers, represented by Unite the Union, said the allowance had existed until 2007 or 2008 and amounted to 7.5 hours a week at time and a half. Murphy International said no such allowance existed and that the claim amounted to a 28.8% pay increase. The Court found no basis for concluding the allowance had existed.
