The Labour Court did not recommend conceding Four Workers’ claim for incremental credit at University College Dublin. The recommendation was signed on 21 August 2019. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union said the workers were disadvantaged compared with staff recruited from 2016, when a scheme allowed managers to appoint new entrants above the first point of the salary scale. UCD said appointments at the scale minimum were the norm from 2011 to early 2016 and a concession could affect the wider public sector. The Court said the union had not substantiated its claim.
