The Labour Court recommended staged pay increases in a dispute between Dromone Engineering Ltd and Unite the Union, which represented about 30 production operatives. The recommendation was signed on 1 November 2018. The union sought 3% increases for three years and consideration of a legacy period when members missed pay increases. The employer said higher labour costs could lead to more outsourcing. The Court recommended increases of 2.25% from 1 April 2018, 2% from 1 April 2019 and 2% from 1 January 2020, in full and final settlement of all matters, including the legacy issue.
