The Labour Court recommended a 17% pay increase, phased over 36 months, for certain grades at Balfour Beatty CLG and a standard €275 on-call rate. The recommendation was signed on 5 May 2017. In a collective pay dispute with SIPTU Teeu, the Court also recommended further engagement on site-agent pay and a meeting in January 2018 to discuss a general increase, taking the company’s financial position into account. For administrative grades, it recommended entry-level pay of €19,750 to €21,000 and competent-level pay of €21,000 to €26,000, with progression after 12 months and over three years on the competent scale. The 17% increase was based on Dr Martin King’s evaluation. Workers already above the recommended rates would remain on those higher rates until others caught up. The Court recommended that the 17% increase be accepted, phased in from the date of acceptance.
