The Labour Court recommended against conceding two workers’ claims against Athlone Institute of Technology and the Department of Education and Skills. Its recommendation was signed on 10 April 2017. The workers alleged bullying and harassment during their redeployment. The Court found they had never been employed by the Department, so their claims against it could not be upheld. It found their claims against Athlone Institute of Technology arose from redeployment covered by a 19 January 2012 settlement, and said it could not supervise the agreement’s implementation.
