The Labour Court recommended that Rentokil Initial increase basic pay by 2% from 1 January 2017 and by another 2% from 1 January 2018. The recommendation was signed on 20 March 2017. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had sought pay rises, restoration of a €79 monthly meal allowance and a two-week Christmas bonus. The Court recommended that the parties negotiate a replacement subsistence benefit, payable from 1 May 2017, and that the company pay a Christmas bonus equal to one week’s basic pay from December 2017. It also called for early negotiations on the remaining claims. The company did not attend either hearing.
