The Labour Court recommended that five porters at HSE Dublin North East be included in the arrangement for paid breaks and shift allowance. The recommendation was signed on 16 March 2017 and applied only to those five porters. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union and Unite said the payments had been withdrawn without consultation and that the workers had received them since starting employment. HSE Dublin North East said a 2011 agreement had ended the benefits for new staff, and the payments to the porters had continued in error before being stopped.
