The Labour Court recommended that the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union accept Kerry Foods’ proposals for changes at its Charleville plant, subject to qualifications. The recommendation was signed on 14 March 2017. The Court did not support adding double-time pay for Sunday shift hours to the proposed 33.33% four-cycle shift premium. It recommended the company’s break pattern, with access to comfort breaks and proper information, and said 35 to 40 voluntary redundancies should be made available. Staff who did not take voluntary redundancy should receive €1,000 each if the recommendation is accepted, in full and final settlement of the matters raised.
