The Labour Court recommended shift protections and severance terms for workers at Color Communications after a dispute with the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. Its recommendation was signed on 9 March 2017. The Court recommended offering evening shifts first to former permanent evening-shift workers whose skills matched the work. Workers moved to day shifts should receive the full shift premium for four months and half the premium for a further four months. It also recommended an agreed severance package for any of four workers who could show compelling reasons they could not accept day work. If the sides could not agree on the package or its application, they could refer the matter back to the Court. For the short-notice shutdown, evening-shift workers should receive an additional half-day of annual leave in 2017.
