Labour Court seeks financial review before final recommendation on redundancy dispute

The Labour Court recommended that Tim Hastings Ltd cooperate with Services Industrial Professional Technical Union financial adviser Marie Sherlock as she examined the company’s financial position and a report on its viability. The review was to be completed by 9 December 2016. The dispute concerned redundancy selection and the union’s claim for an ex-gratia payment. The union challenged the selection of three employees for compulsory redundancy; the company said it had made redundancies because of financial difficulties. The Court asked both parties to report back on progress before it issued a final recommendation on the union’s claims. The recommendation was signed on 15 November 2016.
