The Labour Court found merit in a worker’s enhanced redundancy claim against M. and J. Gleeson and Company Limited and recommended severance of 3.5 weeks’ pay per year of service, inclusive of statutory redundancy. The recommendation was signed on 15 December 2015. The worker, who had been employed since 1978, said the company had previously provided enhanced packages and bonuses. The company said the worker had a contractual entitlement to statutory redundancy only and that past enhancements depended on individual circumstances.
