The Labour Court recommended that Transdev Dublin Light Rail and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union enter realistic negotiations on a new collective agreement. The recommendation was signed on 8 December 2015. The union said its members had less favourable terms than those at comparable organisations and wanted meaningful talks beyond Consumer Price Index increases. Management said the claims were too costly but accepted there was room to explore them. The Court recommended that discussions take place under Workplace Relations Commission auspices, using a joint Mazars report on the company’s finances and the cost of the union’s claims as context. It said the talks should be completed within four weeks.
