The Labour Court recommended that UCD pay €10,000 each to three workers over retrospective regrading to the Technical Officer scale. The recommendation was signed on 2 December 2015. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought permanent appointments and backdated assimilation for three Senior Laboratory Attendants who had completed the required post-qualification experience. UCD said it could not afford retrospective regrading before January 2015. By the hearing, the workers had been placed on the Technical Officer grade from 15 January 2015 and given permanent status, leaving only the retrospective pay issue for the Court to consider.
