The Labour Court recommended that HSE Cers concede a claim by the Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union to regularise five members as general managers. The recommendation was signed on 17 February 2015. The union argued the members were entitled to regularisation under the Haddington Road Agreement and that comparable staff groups had been regularised. HSE Cers said restructuring meant the roles identified in a 2008 review were no longer required. The Court noted that the HSE had not rebutted the union’s account that two comparable staff categories had had their claims resolved. It recommended that the union agree to the structural changes proposed by the HSE and that the parties meet to agree how the five members could be accommodated in the new structure at revised grading.
