The Labour Court recommended five former Rawlplug Ireland Ltd employees receive individual ex-gratia redundancy payments after the company transferred operations from Park West, Dublin, to Drogheda. The recommendation was signed on 19 December 2014. Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought two weeks’ pay per year of service on top of statutory redundancy payments. The Court did not recommend the union’s claim, citing the company’s precarious financial position, but recommended increasing the company’s offer. It recommended €5,500 for Mr McG, €2,500 for Mr M, €2,000 for Mr K, €4,500 for Ms O and €2,000 for Mr F.
