The Labour Court recommended that DHL Express (Ireland) Ltd withdraw and expunge a worker’s final written warning and pay him €20,000 compensation. The recommendation was signed on 10 December 2014. The worker said he received the warning without an investigation or a chance to answer the allegations. The Court found the disciplinary process fundamentally flawed, noting that the person who initiated the complaints also investigated them and that the worker had been suspended for three months before the matter was dealt with. It said the warning was unwarranted and disproportionate, and that the worker had suffered considerable distress.
