The Labour Court recommended that HSE South should not reverse the conversion of festival and race day leave into annual leave for affected staff. The recommendation was signed on 23 September 2014. The dispute with the Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union concerned an agreement reached in 2006 and extended to another group of union members in 2010. The union sought reinstatement of 1.5 additional annual leave days for eligible staff from the 2012/13 leave year. HSE South proposed replacing the days with a one-off payment equivalent to 1.5 times the leave lost.
