The Labour Court recommended that Crown Paints Ltd apply the redundancy terms in its 2010 agreement to the impending redundancies. The recommendation was signed on 30 August 2012. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union and MANDATE said the agreed terms should remain in place. Management argued that falling sales and increased competition made them unsustainable.
